BASED: ROCHDALE

RATE: STARTING SALARY: UP TO £19.00 PER HOUR DEPENDENT ON SKILL AND EXPERIENCE

Hours: Day shift of 39 hours per week flexible within Company opening hours

Salary: Starting salary of up to £19.00 per hour

Overtime paid at time and a half up to 48 hours and double time thereafter

Benefits: Pension

35 days holiday per annum

We currently have an opportunity for a semi-skilled Mazak CNC Miller to join our team. We are an established family-owned subcontract engineering firm specializing in precision CNC machining. We supply predominately machined steel fabrications and cast-iron components to industry, ranging from 100 kg to 3 tonnes. The role provides the opportunity to work within our award-winning engineering facility in Rochdale alongside a team of highly skilled machinists using the latest technology.

The Role…


  1. Knowledge of programming, setting and operating of Mazak CNC Milling Machines to produce low volume precision parts. A comprehensive training plan will be available for the successful candidate.
  2. Knowledge of setting up tooling and fixturing, prove out and execute part programs
  3. Follow planned operations to completion at prescribed production rates to meet customer delivery schedule in accordance with Company H&S and Quality Policies
  4. Maximize production while maintaining effective and efficient use of materials and tooling
  5. Carry out in-process inspection to drawing specifications
  6. Forward plan to minimise set-up time and maximize production

In order to be successful in this position as a semi-skilled Mazak CNC Miller, you will have the following skills and experience;

  1. Basic experience of writing and editing programs and able to read and interpret engineering drawings
  2. A strong desire for learning and personal development
  3. Able to perform initial inspections of your own/a team member’s work using a variety of measuring equipment e.g. micrometers
  4. Sound understanding of materials, modern cutting methods and engineering processes
  5. Produce high quality and accurate output with minimal error rate
  6. Flexible approach to working and willing to work overtime as required to fulfil customer delivery schedules
